Here are a few Weathermap-related pages I wanted to link to:
First, there's a thread on the Cacti forums right now with a series users sharing their maps. When I get the chance, I'll add them into the gallery here, but in the mean time check out how other people use weathermap. I enjoy seeing how other folks do it...
Also, my French is terrible, but this blog entry by Jeremy Couture seems to be a nice little introduction to Weathermap if you are a French-speaker.
I am slowing working away at 0.95, but sadly Real Work (the kind that pays the mortgage) is getting in the way more in the last few months. Lots of new business and new things to learn means less time to work on cool weathermap features.

A cool feature for weathermap would be one global option to force all nodes names appears "blank". This way, users can easily grab one screenshot to share their maps, before turning off the option :)

This will be in 0.95.
What I did was allow for a special SET - SET screenshot_mode 1
That filters all text in labels, bwlabels and comments, changing any IP address to 127.0.0.1 and any string of letters longer than 2 into x's. This means that '30MB' works, but 'custserv1' becomes 'xxxxxxxx1'. It's quite nice!

Interesting idea :-)
Maybe there can be a secret SET to do this...
